Raise one of our dogs as your own.
A Guardian Home is a local family who takes one of our program dogs into their home as a full member of the family. The dog lives with you, sleeps in your house, and goes on your road trips. We stay involved for the part of the story that keeps our program going.
Why the program exists
Our dogs should live like dogs, not like a kennel roster.
A breeding program only stays small and personal if the dogs in it have somewhere real to live. We are not willing to keep a building full of adults just to keep our numbers up.
So we place them. A Guardian Home gets a health-tested, well-bred Goldendoodle or Poodle to love and keep. We get the peace of mind that every dog in our program is somebody's dog, sleeping on somebody's couch, in a house within driving distance of Kountze.
It is the arrangement we would want if we were on the other side of it.
How it works
What the arrangement actually looks like.
We match a dog
Guardian placements depend on which dogs we have and what each one needs. It is not first come, first served, it is best fit.
The dog comes home
They live with you full time as your family dog. You handle the daily life: food, walks, vet visits, couch privileges.
We coordinate
For breeding and health testing, the dog comes back to us for short, scheduled periods that we plan around your life, not the other way around.
The specifics are set in writing. Which costs we cover, how many litters are involved, how long the arrangement lasts, and when the dog is spayed or neutered and becomes fully and permanently yours are all spelled out in a Guardian Home agreement you read before you commit. What we look for in a Guardian Home
- You live within reasonable driving distance of Kountze, Texas
- A securely fenced yard, or a realistic plan for safe outdoor time
- The dog lives inside your home, not outdoors or in a kennel
- Someone is around enough that the dog is not alone all day, every day
- You are comfortable keeping up with grooming, feeding, and routine vet care
- You can bring the dog to us for scheduled, planned periods
- Everyone in the household actually wants a dog

Is this right for you?
It is a great fit if…
You want a well-bred, health-tested Goldendoodle in your family, you live near Kountze, you are home a fair amount, and you are comfortable with a dog that has a short scheduled obligation attached for a defined period.
It is probably not if…
You travel constantly, you are hours from Hardin County, you want zero coordination with anyone about your dog, or the idea of the dog being away for planned stretches would be hard on your household. That is a completely fair answer, and a regular puppy may suit you better.

What families ask before they book.
Do I pay for the dog?
Guardian Home placements work differently from a standard puppy purchase, and the financial terms are set out in the Guardian Home agreement. Ask Stacy for the current terms before you decide.
Who pays for food and vet care?
Day-to-day costs such as food, grooming, and routine care are typically the Guardian family’s, while costs tied to the breeding program are typically ours. The exact split is written into the agreement, so ask for it in writing.
How often is the dog away from my home?
Only for scheduled periods connected to health testing, breeding, or whelping. These are planned in advance around your calendar. Ask Stacy how many days that usually adds up to.
How long does the arrangement last?
Until the dog is retired from the program, at which point she or he is spayed or neutered and is simply your dog, permanently. Ask for the specific terms in the current agreement.
Do I get to keep the dog at the end?
Yes. That is the whole point of the program. The dog is in your family from day one and stays there.
How far from Kountze can I live?
Close enough that scheduled visits are not a burden on you. Families around Lumberton, Silsbee, Sour Lake, Village Mills, and Beaumont are typically an easy fit. If you are farther out, ask.
What if my situation changes?
Tell us as early as you can. Life happens, and we would much rather work it out with you than have a dog in a home that is struggling.
Can I see the agreement before committing?
Yes, and you should. Never sign a Guardian Home contract you have not read all the way through.
